When you are performing your pre-trip inspection of the loaded container, be sure to review the seal. In the Power Direct app, update your dispatch with the seal number that you observed on the container door.
If the seal is missing, broken or different than what is on file in the system, it can mean that someone has been tampering with the goods or there has been a theft.
First, you will need to update the seal number currently showing on the container. To do this, tap the Edit button in your dispatch. Input the seal number and press submit.
NOTE: this option is only available for Loaded Moves
If the seal number does not match what is in the system, you will see a screen which will allow you to re-enter the seal number in case you have a typing error, or to fill out the Shipment Integrity form.
In the Shipment Integrity form, complete all of the questions on the form, including photos of the container and new seal & click submit.
When taking photos, you will be able to either use an existing photo on your tablet’s camera roll or take a new photo.
Be sure to select the appropriate reason code for filling out the report.
NOTE: the submit button will be disabled until the form is completely filled out.
The completed report will be emailed to the Safety & Risk Management team as well members of your dispatch group.
The emailed report will include all of the information you have added, including pictures.
NOTE: If drivers are unable to update the Seal on their dispatch in Power Direct, they can select “Dispatch Options” and then choose “Shipment Integrity” to submit the report.
By following these steps, you can quickly and efficiently report broken seals on containers using our Power Direct mobile app. Remember, reporting damaged seals is essential for maintaining the security of your shipments.
